Indian Democracy: IS IT NATURAL ?
A featured democracy is the basic need to run any big
country like ours ‘INDIA’. It is the solution of all the positives, negatives,
threats of the survival of its citizens and so the country. Whenever we struck
in any situation, we look The Bible or The Gita or The Quran of Democracy, i.e.
our Constitution.
Our constitution, “The Constitution of India” or “Bharat ka
Sanvidhaan” is considered to be the second longest constitution of the world,
which comprises of the best features of literally all the major democracies. It
constitutes of 395 Articles in 22 Parts and 8 Schedules which give us all the
features from Fundamental Rights to the DPSP’s, from the Citizens Duty to the
working of Institutions. These features are making our democracy as the biggest
democracy of the world.
But…
It’s an old saying that we must learn from experience of
others. But actually we are missing one thing, “We must learn from the
experience of ALIKE others”. We just cannot avoid taking sweets seeing a death
of diabetic person after having some. Similarly we cannot avoid driving on the
road seeing an accident of drunken person. Also there could be a thing which is
good for someone while it threatens the other.
Similar is our Constitution, we decided to learn from the
experience of others. But during this process we might missed one major thing, “ALIKE
OTHERS”. For some basic knowledge, the countries from which we had adopted the
major features are: USA, Canada, SA, Britain, USSR, Japan, Germany, Australia,
France & Ireland. None of these are even geographically alike India;
cultural, social, economic alikeness is hence a long talk.
Democracy is itself subjected as “evolver” in nature. Like
in USA, after its freedom it had gone through long civil wars, the French
Revolution is considered to be the most bloody during its evolution. Hence, a
democracy is not anything that could be written in 3 years. It needs hundreds
of years to evolve.
Now, come the main concept: Indian democracy is not an
evolved democracy, it’s a set democracy. Since the democracy is not evolved, so
the problems in democracy will evolve.
But…
All this is done for a big reason, due to its colonial history;
we as a country ‘India’ cannot afford to give that ‘evolving duration’ of over
100-200 years to this democracy. As we were among one who got its freedom at
very last. And in order to survive internationally, in the competition of growth
and development. This could be the only solution available to us, which was
best utilised by our framers of the constitution.
But due to any of the reason we cannot deny the evolving
tendency for the problem to come up. And with this future problems in view, our
framers left us with one of the very important word “AMENDMENT”. This tells us
that in spite of set democracy, our democracy is not ‘rigid’. With the evolving
society and its problems, we can transform it for the betterment of the nation.
Hence, as a responsible thinker, responsible intellectual, responsible
bureaucrat, responsible politician and most importantly as a responsible
citizen, we must consider it as a gift from our nation builders, and further we
must look to contribute in this ever-last nation building process.
These features of adoption and transformation of our holy
book “The Constitution of India” makes it not even the longest, not even the
biggest but the BEST democracy of the world.
Now, IT’S UP TO US.
Bro my only question is why ur factions (self -proclaimed intellectuals) always depict yourselves as "vulnerable "sections ?
